CALDERA SLATED TO RELEASE HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED FOURTH ALBUM "YOUR LAME-ASS FAMILY" ON NOVEMBER 17, 2009

Odessa, TX - 29/10/2009 - Innovators, Agitators, Conflagulators, Suppliants of life - after a few years of silence, Caldera has emerged from a group of Anarchist Misfits into responsible, adult Christians. This album chronicles that journey, explaining how YOUR LAME-ASS FAMILY has resulted in the devolution of our society. This more mature album will shock fans with the sensitivty and tragedy of these beautifully rendered and recorded tunes. The revolving gang of believers that make up Caldera will release this highly-anticipated fourth album (brp! productions) on November 17, 2009.

In YOUR LAME-ASS FAMILY, the most anticipated album in five years, Caldera are baring their souls. Each song has been lovingly constructed using themes both deeply personal and resoundingly political. Several different performers have contributed to the album (from Mixer-MBP, G-Nuggets, Roberto Escamillo and others) this album is truly a co-operative effort, which showcases the passion and talent of these artists andillustrates their journey to new eminence as writers and Christians.

"This album is epic," says Robert Escamillo, co-writer of many songs and friend of the band. "Compared to some of the other music these guys have made, it seems like these songs actually tell a story. From losing lovers, to wanting to spread the love of Christ through song, I think these guys have really matured." Some of the songs are studio recordings, a few were recorded using a First Act guitar from Wal-Mart. If you notice, most of the sounds have been recycled from other sources. In fact, Caldera is one of the first bands ever in the history of right now that has built a musical career using almost no inherent musical talent. The idea of Caldera, the essence of what it is lives and breathes through this album. It is consumerism gone horribly, horribly right.

Each song has been inspired by artists, such as Prince, Her Space Holiday, and Dashboard Confessionals. Such a sickening combination can be heard in YOUR LAME-ASS FAMILY, along with a heavy penetration of the Beach Boys, which adds an, indeed, epic edition to their discography. Although, what makes this album great is the foundation of fanatism and sarcasm (which some say is the 'lowest form' of wit)that are enhanced by lyrics like "you wear your love like a maniac," or "I'm being raped with insecurity."

This is the follow-up album to 2005's SUNSHINE AND SINS. That album has sold several different copies, along with several different t-shirt and thong sells generated due to a brief come-back tour around the same time in 2005. With all this success, Caldera has gone back to its roots that established a presence for the band in 2004'S SING RETRO-WOMAN. Songs like Love Waltz and Alone (in my mind) seem to echo the funk infused rhythms from the previously mentioned album.

Due to the recent election of President Obama and following the complete and utter rape of our country by President Bush, YOUR LAME-ASS FAMILY has been framed in a volatile time period and is reflective of that. It does not only dwell on the subject of love, sex and relationships as past three full-length albums. However, it does recycle a few tracks from 2003's LATE KNIGHT REMINDERS. This is their most expansive and impressive album to date.

The album attempts to cover a broad range of emotions. One of the sadder songs on the album is performed by Joe Campos and Bryan Perryman, live. "The Prince" tells the story of lost love because of the death of a friend. "Monster" addresses suppressed anger and the internal struggle to suppress anti-christian ideals. Caldera's gospel-esque hymn, "Him," asks the listener to "Praise Him" in an obvious attempt to buy your faith so that they can later smash it in "Apocryphal Him."

"The CD made me question what I was doing in my life. I really made some positive changes after I heard it," says Barry Marlow, a long-time fan. "I feel like everything is so much more centered now. I heard the entire album from start to finish, it was one of the most fascinating hours of my life."

There are forthcoming details on an up-coming Caldera concert tour that will kick-off sometime in the near future.

For those of you who don't know, Caldera is a state of mind, a philosophy, not just music, it's a way of life, a symbol of expression and meaning, an understatement of how society overlooks the goodness and sadness in people, and makes them understandable and cold. That is Caldera. We here in Caldera, the collective 'us,' support consumerism, as the basis of society. We live for making money and that's what we are about. Even though we make none, we are still drawn to create for the purposes of commercialism. Praise the almighty dollar, it must be love.
